Let's make another Internet--thoughts about the Boston workshop.

I just attended the Open Internet and Innovation workshop in Boston yesterday, and I was disturbed by the basic tone, which was, "gee, how can we keep making money with this thing to keep it alive?" Instead of "regulating," just assure the right structure.

No one (like verizon, google, at&t, microsoft, cablevision, etc.) should be able to be in the business of laying cables AND being any kind of information or service provider that utilizes those cables and/or that network infrastructure.
