There are very few things that the constitution actually spells out as duties of the government. Silencing free speech is not one of them. Want jobs, economic growth, and REVENUE? Get out of the way of business owners and watch the economy grow. Want REAL freedom of speech and opportunity? Get government out of the way. This "net neutrality" crap is just one of the many angles from which the liberals/democrats are attacking freedom of speech. They are trying to use "diversity," and "fairness" as the labels for some of their other attacks on the 1st amendment.

Don't let you government muzzle you like Hugo Chavez or the Soviets.

We have this thing called a "constitution." It was bought, paid for, and written with the blood of American patriots. It has been defended by the blood of American patriots for generations. If need be, more American patriots are ready, willing, and able to defend it again.

Whoever you are, I'm pretty sure that you DON'T represent the general public. At least you don't represent the INFORMED public. You are probably a government hack pushing talking points by the sound of it. How can I tell? You are attacking the engine of progress. You are doing what democrats and liberals always do. You put the word "big" in front of whatever you wish to demonize: "big" business, "big" oil, "big" pharma, etc. Your statement that "Millions of Americans have called for nothing less" is a bunch of crap. Show me the signatures. With the aid of people like ACORN and SEIU, the left has managed to steal many elections by voter fraud and intimidation, i.e. helping dead people to vote, and helping people to vote more than once. I haven't seen ONE honest statistic or piece of data from the left in a long time, so you have your work cut out to prove that you are presenting LEGITIMATE statistics. Can you say "East Anglia Climate Research Unit?" I knew you could.

You are correct. Notice that most of the posts supporting "net neutrality" are getting voted down, and the ones supporting an open and free internet are getting voted up. Keep in mind that it simply doesn't matter what Americans think. The politicians in Washington (starting in the White House) couldn't give a wet fart worth of concern about what the American people think. Look at how both the democrat led congress and senate simply IGNORED overwhelming poll numbers, phone calls, faxes, e-mails, and town hall meetings that made it quite clear that the majority of Americans didn't want them to proceed down the path they were going with health care "reform." Yet they did it anyway. They will do the same thing here. Pretty soon we are going to get to the point that mere votes will do nothing to preserve our freedom, liberty, and constitution. How far will you let them push you?

You're on the right track. The government, headed by Obama and followed closely by the rest of the democrats, want to be the ones to decide which speech is "free." They plan on silencing all dissent like Hugo Chavez and the Soviets did.

However, rather than corporations owning the government, I think the government falls more under UNION ownership.

Obama doesn't have an "open" bone in his body. He and the democrats are merely pushing for total control of the internet, radio, and television in order to silence dissent just like Hugo Chavez and the Soviets.

Too many security issues. I know for sure the military will not buy off on this. The State Dept. might since keeping secrets doesn't seem to be something they care much about.
